If insured, you will be asked to contact your insurance company for pre-authorisation.
You may or may not require a GP referral prior to your Hands On consultation, your insurance company will let you know.|
You will be assessed on the phone initially as to your suitability for the Hands On service.
If suitable you will be given an appointment and then sent a confirmation and a general information sheet regarding your proposed procedure.
If unsuitable for the ´one stop´ clinic, an appointment will be made for you to see the consultant at a regular clinic at a convenient time.
You will have a consultation with the specialist on the day who will see and assess you, and consent you if both of you are happy to proceed.
We will then take you to the fully operational aseptic minor operations theatre where the procedure will be carried out under local anaesthetic.
After the procedure you will go to a recovery area where you will be given light refreshment and be seen again by the consultant before discharge.
